I find it interesting to see how some ladies do the blanket stitching first and then add the appliques while others attach the applique pieces first and then stitch around them. I'm curious to know if it is purely a preference thing or is there a benefit in one over the other?
Just realized I still need to make some stems so off to put the kettle on and play with some more scraps.

blocks look lovely so far. I think it is personal preference/style as far as what order you put your block together. Personally I blanket stitch first but for no reason come to think of it. Maybe because I wasn't sure what fabrics I was going to use in the beginning? LOL Happy Stitching!

I did my border circles first - but only because they needed less preparation and were more portable. Your blocks are coming along very nicely...some lovely colours.
